A Legend Hangs His Hat Up

Today we found out that Wes O’Neal, legendary Waggoner cowboy, has retired. Mr. O’Neal has been a respected cowboy on the Waggoner for 58 years. For the last decade or so, he has been working at Whiteface, the horse division of Waggoner Ranch. Before that he worked on the cow side of the ranch. While he is not featured in Cowboys of the Waggoner Ranch, Jeremy had the opportunity to photograph him in 2006.

“I remember during the shoot Mr. O’Neal’s cell phone rang,” Jeremy said. “He pulled the phone out and said, ‘Excuse me but my pocket phone is ringing.”
